Today was our 10th and final butterfly launch at Union Elementary. The kids planted milkweed and raised caterpillars, watched them turn into Monarch butterflies, and then released them today so that they can migrate to Mexico for the winter.

All of the 5th graders got to release a butterfly, since it’s their last year before going off to middle school. They held onto them until everyone got their butterfly, then released them all at the same time. While Ben was waiting, his butterfly pooped some green stuff onto his finger and he was appalled, ha!
