James worked super hard this spring and finished building the bookshelves in our downstairs living room. The last thing to do is put doors onto the bottom cabinets. We painted the walls a taupe/gray color, and he put in new baseboards and window trim, both of which he is gradually doing throughout the rest of the house.
We thought about putting the TV above the fireplace, but it’s too high and you have to crane your neck to see it up there. So James mounted it onto an arm that can pull out of the bookcase and swivel. He had to crawl underneath the house to move the cable wire, which was not fun.
Going with our “farmhouse” theme, he reconfigured the french doors into sliding “barn doors”.
I found this cool wooden “barn quilt” to go on the wall above the couch.
I meant to tell you that – I love the barn quilt thing and how it plays off the pattern in the carpet some. Nice!
